This is a good recipe for guys, super easy and relatively fool proof. The only hard part is remembering to start the almonds soaking. Just do it in the morning before leaving for work, and then its ‘hummus time’ as soon as you get home.
2 cups almonds, soaked 6 hours
1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
1/2 tablespoon basil, chopped
1/2 cup tahini
1 clove garlic
2 lemons, juiced
Pinch of sea salt
Pinch of black pepper
Directions: Put everything in the food processor and blend until chunky. Done and done. If you want it creamier, blend for longer and add a little olive oil or vegenaise… :)
Ingredients (makes approx 12) 1/2 cup of almond meal (or using a food processor, process raw almonds to make almond meal) 1 cup of oats 1 tbsp maca root (optional) 2 tbsp cacao nibs 2 tbsp coconut oil 2 tbsp maple syrup
Method: 1. Add all ingredients into a food processor or blender & pulse until well combined 2. Using hands form into bite sized balls, if they do not form easily when pressed, add more coconut oil & maple to the mixture. 3. Refrigerate (or freeze if your in a hurry) untill set.
*can be stored in the refrigerator or freezer, wrap individually for a on-the-go snack!
Preparation: Blend all ingredients, starting with a ¼ teaspoon of the salt, in a food processor. Pulse until well combined, then let it process for several minutes. Taste to check salt level and add more if desired. The mixture will warm slightly in the processor and the textures will meld, eventually forming a gooey, delicious caramel.
